Is any other regional or federal government in the developed world doing what the Napthine government has planned for Parkville’s Manningham Reserve? The plan is to delete it for tollway off ramps – which would appear to be moving in the opposite direction to urban planning elsewhere in the world’s major cities. Are there examples of this kind of removal of public parks happening elsewhere? Most other new tollways I’ve seen around world have been at pains to replace lost parkland like this post construction, or just avoid removing it at all costs.
